Attributed to John Pollard Seddon and probably for C.Seddon in collaboration with Kenton and Co (see Victorian and Edwardian Furniture and Interiors by Jeremy Cooper page 88 for matching sideboard) A well designed architectual oak Gothic Revival upholstered chair of superior quality with ebonised circular decoration throughout and Stylised floral details to the front are identicle to the sideboard and the half circular supports on the chair with ebonised dots are also the same in principle as where the sideboard mirror back meets the work surface area in each corner of the sideboard. The sideboard illustrated in J.Coopers book has many identicle features to this chair. There is a matching Buffet in image 2 (now sold) which has almost the same castelated detail to the top as the top of the sideboard. Circa 1865.
