Side table in ebonised walnut, c.1880, aligned to the Aesthetic Movement (1880–1889). The square top stands on four turned legs above a useful lower shelf. Around the shelf runs a raised gallery set with regularly pierced circular roundels, giving lightness and rhythm to the design. The ebonised finish creates a uniform, architectural tone suited to Anglo-Japanese taste while keeping the form practical for living spaces.
