Vase in ceramic, aligned to Japonisme, c.1900. A compact double-gourd profile with a rich red flambe glaze that breaks to inky blue at the shoulder. The body is decorated with a sinuous dragon in the Japanese taste, the motif circling the lower bulb and enlivening the glaze with movement. Scale and presence make this an effective cabinet or mantel piece; the base is signed Bernard Moore.
