An outstanding Aesthetic Movement exhibition quality Walnut sideboard with double horizontal dentil cornice, the central original bevelled mirror surrounded by three leaf clovers, flanked by upper display areas with turned supports above a pair of twin doored cupboards with carved walnut circular panels, to the left pair : depicting a fish, a starfish, a conch shell and an eel, and a butterfly on pomegranates adjacent to it. To the right : a hummingbird on the wing adjacent to spring rabbits, each panel with quartered line details giving a subtle Japanese style all skilfully carved by a master craftsman. A large surface work area with a pair of drawers centred by a stylized carved rosette with a lower curving canopy carved with consistent leaf decoration with a turned gallery below, flanked by lower larger cupboards with quartered panels centred by sharply carved decoration to the panels of a bough of apples to the right and a bough of berries to the left and carved and subtle carved and entwined floral details below the doors. The base with turned uprights and a large open display area on platform base, the whole with tramline details and ebonized highlights throughout and the original brass handles and stylized floral hinges.
