A rare Arts and Crafts oak wardrobe and matching dressing table designed by E Punnett and made by William Birch in 1901 (see British Furniture by Pauline Agius page 120 plate 163). The pair with sensational ebony and pewter stylised inlaid details and chevron inlaid details throughout to the dressing table and wardrobe. The dressing table is one you can sit at and they are becoming harder and harder to find, the wardrobe has good hanging space and two large drawers to the base. (I do have the two handles which are missing in the image) Dressing table Height 56", Width 41 1/2", Depth 21 1/2". Circa 1901. It notes in British Furniture that the dressing table on it's own was estimated to cost to make £6 8s. 6d. It would have been very expensive at the time.
