Rosewood 8 leg Anglo-Japanese sidetable Design attributed to Godwin. probably for Collinson and Lock. The octagonal top, with carved and shaped brackets below and turned and fluted legs united by a lower shelf with Japanesque fretwork frieze and splayed legs. in many ways similar to his famous spider leg versions, carved details just under the octagonal top, turned and fluted legs a lower shelf with wonderful fret work details. THE MULTIPLE LEGS WITH SPLAYED OUT FEET ARE SIMILAR IN WAYS TO THE TABLES HE DESIGNED FOR WILLIAM WATT and COLLINSON and LOCK and THE FRETWORK DETAILING IS IDENTICAL TO ANGLO-JAPANESE TABLES HE DESIGNED FOR GREY TOWERS IN 1873.
