Charles Bevan (c.1815–1891) was a British furniture designer known for his bold contributions to the Gothic Revival and Aesthetic movements. His designs are recognized for their angular forms, chamfered edges, and intricate inlays, often blending medieval motifs with modern geometry. Bevan collaborated with leading manufacturers such as Marsh, Jones & Cribb, Gillows, and James Lamb. Notable commissions include furnishings for Titus Salt Jr. and the design of the innovative “New Registered Reclining Chair.” In 1872, he founded C. Bevan & Son with his son, George Alfred Bevan, continuing to produce highly original art furniture into the later 19th century.
