E W Godwin attributed. An Anglo-Japanese side table with the original period Royal Worcester porcelain plate upon an inward storage area with turned supports and a stylised cart wheel stretcher uniting three turned legs with angular supports. The cart wheel stretcher has been used in a number of ways by Godwin on his lounge armchair with part cart wheel details to the arms and also to the arms of settees he has designed including the piano stool that belonged to Ellen Terry on page 70 of The Secular Furniture of E W Godwin by Soros, where she is sitting in a period image. Height 27", Width 24.5", Depth 24.5". Circa 1880's.
