An ebonised Anglo-Japanese cabinet of supreme quality with Amboyna serving area possibly designed by W J Estall but very much in the style Of T E Colcutt like E W Godwin Colcutt also designed for Collinson and Lock and his ebonised furniture shown in Philadelphia and exhibited at the Paris Exhibition in 1878 contributed to the fashion and style in the United States at that time. Alfred Waterhouse is also believed to have designed for Lambs. Lambs were one of the very best cabinet makers of the period a pure Art Furniture company who's furniture designs were at the forefront in England in the late 1800's. A set of 4 matching dining chairs above. Made by Lambs of Manchester, stamped on the top of the door. Height 6' 11", Width 44", Depth 17". Circa 1875.
