An Arts and Crafts desktop oak bookcase with a shaped upper back and hinged dust flaps to the tops, with three bronze plaques. The left plaque depicts an angel with a quote at her feet: Born to speak all mirth. The centre plaque features an angel, with a quote to the top: Let time news be known.
The right-hand plaque displays a Grim Reaper and a quote at his feet: Misery's love O come to me. Each is in a flowing Art Nouveau style.
