W R Lethaby for Morris and Co. A monumental set of seventeen oak dining chairs

POA

A monumental set of seventeen Morris and Co oak dining chairs consisting of two armchairs and fifteen dining chairs all with drop in seats. These chairs were designed in the offices of Richard Norman Shaw probably designed by William. Lethaby. The whole set have been restored, each chair gently knocked apart, all the joints cleaned, glued, re assembled and clamped for 36 hours for the glue to set, then all cleaned and waxed. A few of the seventeen have been previously professionally re-upholstered in a quality leather. I also have two more available which match but have upholstered seats not drop in seats like the rest. This pair could be converted to make up a set of nineteen if required. Circa 1890.
