An Anglo-Japanese cast iron overmantle designed by Thomas Jeckyll. Made by Barnard Bishop and Barnard. Almost identical to one designed for Stephan Lycett Green for their Yorkshire home, exhibited by The Fine Art Society in 1972 'The Aesthetic Movement and The Cult of Japan' also illustrated in The Decorative Arts Society 1850 to Present. Journal 25 2001, page 41. Height 40", Width 52", Depth 6". Circa 1870's.
